If you were born before the 90’s you are sure to have seen at least one episode of the cult classic TV show, Knight Rider.

Ultimately a 1982 Pontiac Trans Am, the Knight Industries Two Thousand, was every boy’s  dream. A car that can talk, drive itself and even endure high speed impact with a wall made James Bond’s gadget-filled Aston Martin look rather pathetic!

In reality the car could reach 60mph in 9.2 seconds which is not fantastic but for most of its fans the Trans Am is not about speed, it’s about the signature style and status that comes with it.  You can pick up a standard model Pontiac Trans Am for around £5000, but if you are looking for a KITT replica you might be looking at over £37000 for the 150bhp machine!

Originally voiced by the great William Daniels, KITT quickly became a much loved and iconic car for many generations. I mean, who wouldn’t want a car who can drive itself, have a conversation and run video games whilst you drive? The cool thing about all of this is that it won’t be long before you can experience a real KITT with all of the autonomous cars entering the market. Hold tight and you can get your Hasselhoff on soon!
