In addition, its production played a key role in advancing the motor industry.“The legendary two-door Skoda 1000 MBX with its liberally glazed body crowned the success of the first Czech large production car,” explained Andrea Frydlova, head of the Skoda Museum.“This makes the vehicle an important milestone in Skoda’s history. The production figures increased significantly throughout the 1960s in Mlada Boleslav. Many progressive technologies in mass production caught on, including high pressure die-casting for cylinder and crank cases, as well as gearbox casing.”Under the hood, the Skoda 1000 MBX had a four-cylinder petrol engine with an output of 52hp and its top speed was around 127km per hour. Skoda made the decision to produce the cars at a standalone 80-hectare plant in order not to slowdown the manufacture of its other models.A total of 2,517 Skoda 100 MBXs were produced before the model was replaced in 1968 – with around 50 per cent being sold outside of Czechoslovakia. Unfortunately, relatively few still remain in good condition and the Skoda 1000 MBX is one of the most sought after classic cars of its generation. With its sleek lines and art-deco feel, it is easy to see why."},{"@context":"https://schema.org/","@type":"BreadcrumbList
@type":"ListItem
{"@type":"ListItem
{"@type":"ListItem
