The upcoming 2012 Donington Historic Festival is set to offer an array of classic sporting vehicles for visitors to behold, with the first batch of entrants for races over the event now flooding in.

According to the festival's organisers, a 1961 250 GT SWB has already been signed up to take part in races over the weekend, with former Formula One driver Jackie Oliver just one of numerous high-profile names that will be in attendance.

Oliver said: "This Historic Festival has now become the first historic meeting for a new season, which means – with much excitement – that we are all able to get back behind the wheel after the winter break."

Set to take place on May 5th and 6th at Donington Park in Derby, the event last year played host to an array of classic vehicles, such as touring cars from both the 1970s and 80s, numerous Bugattis, Ferraris and Alfa Romeos, as well as a number of pre-War Bentleys.
