The latest auction at Mercedes-Benz World at Brooklands has achieved a standout feat of completing sales worth more than £1 million.

A host of top-of-the-line and desirable classic vehicles went under the hammer earlier this week, with 62 vehicles in total being sold.

Some of the highlights of the event included the sale of a 1965 Aston Martin DB6 Vantage in mint condition for £155,000, as well as a 1970 Alfa Romeo GTAm Evocazione that topped its estimate and went for £27,500.

Historics auction director Edward Bridger-Stille remarked: "Our thanks must go to Mercedes-Benz World who allowed us to use their fabulous venue to showcase yet another fascinating array of motor vehicles."

He added that the fact the sale itself breached the £1 million mark is testament to the continuing love of classic vehicles by enthusiasts in the UK.

Earlier this month, an Aston Martin 969 Mark 2 DB6 was sold at latest H&H event in Duxford for a world-record price of £242,000.
