The latest Brooklands classic car auction has broken the £1 million sales, making it the third consecutive sale to do so, it has been revealed.
In total, 60 of the 103 lots on the day sold, bringing in a total of £1,159,070 for sellers.
Some of the highlights of the sale included a 1971 Porsche 911S, which sold for £53,000, as well as a 1964 Porsche 356SC that went for £34,000.
Other attractions were a Jaguar XK150S Roadster that sold for £70,000, a Series I 2+2 Coupe Jaguar E-type that made £21,750 for its former owner and a 1965 FIA Appendix K Rally car that was sold to an online bidder for £34,000.
The event was managed by Historics and took place at Brooklands last weekend.
Auction director Edward Bridger-Stille commented: "This was our third successive £1 million-plus sale and [it] shows that our all-inclusive setup is the correct approach to a competitive market."
He added that the organisers are therefore already looking forward to the next event, which is set to take place on September 1st at Brooklands once more.
One individual who made her mark at the most recent sale was Sky television presenter Helen Chamberlain, who picked up two classic vehicles on the day – a 1985 Audi Quattro and a 1956 Chevrolet Two-Ten Sedan.
Earlier this month, a much-sought-after Alvis Speed 25SB Charlesworth Speed Saloon was sold at auction as part of the latest H&H Classics sale, which took place in Buxton.
The model was only in production from 1937 to 1940 and therefore only a handful of these vehicles remain roadworthy and available for classic car enthusiasts to own.
It was one of the most powerful cars on the road during its heyday, delivering a top speed of 160 mph from its 3.5-litre straight-six petrol engine.
