Another Excellent Jahre For BMW

BMW M is celebrating the 30th anniversary of one of its highest-performance sportscars with a brand new M3 30 Jahre limited edition model.

This special edition has been created in honour of the first generation BMW M3 in 1986, which changed the face of the sporty mid-range market.

Since the inception of the M GmbH in 1986, BMW has been refining and tweaking one of its most iconic models to see it having spanned five generations.

This summer marks the M’s 30th anniversary, which is where the latest model takes its name.

Limited to the same amount of years the Jahre is celebrating, only 30 units will be sold in the UK, making this something of a collector’s item.

The special edition M3 30 Jahre builds on the Competition Package, which is already well known under the BMW M3 badge

For those who are unaware of the tricks it has up its sleeve, the package includes an increase in engine output, which brings it up to a total of 444bhp. The car also boasts a combined fuel cycle of 34 mpg and just 194g/km of CO2 emissions.

The Jahre also includes the Adaptive M suspension, which has been aligned to increase the overall performance of the model.

Extra touches that the limited edition Jahre has, include forged 20-inch M light-alloy wheels with 666 M star spoke design and mixed tyres.

Another feature, which has been included to improve performance, is the seven-speed M DCT gearbox. It allows the car to sprint 0-62mph in an amazing four seconds – 0.1 seconds faster than the series production variant.

Regarding the appearance, the Jahre looks dynamic and muscular, with a BMW Individual Frozen Silver metallic paint job that makes it gleam as you power your way along the road.

This edition model also features exclusively designed M gills in the front wings, which bear the logo M3 30 Jahre – just for a little extra touch.

Priced at £82,675, the BMW M3 30 Jahre Edition goes on sale this summer, but you need to be fast to get your hands on one – they’re expected to sell out pretty quickly!
