5 Cars That Get Better With Age

Some cars are like a fine wine, they just seem to get better with age.

We’ve put together a list of the top 5 iconic cars that we feel get better with age – but feel free to challenge us of course!

Let’s start with the stunning 1964 Aston Martin DB5. This beautiful car is most famous for appearing in the James Bond classic, ‘Goldfinger’.

With a top speed of 145mph and an engine producing 282bhp it isn’t hard to see why this captured the hearts of so many.

Porsche 911

This is a car that is instantly recognisable for its curved body shape and striking headlights. The first 911 was manufactured in 1964 making it over 50 years old!

Despite its age, the original 911 still gives off the essence of old school cool. Extremely popular in the A-List community, owners include; Ellen DeGeneres, Tom Cruise, David Beckham, Matthew Perry, and Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Ford Escort

Although long out of production, the Ford Escort is not one to be missed out. Specifically the MK1, that was not long ago featured in ‘Fast and Furious 6’, driven by the late and great Paul Walker.

The first Escort was imported into the UK in 1967 making its debut at the Brussels Motor Show in 1968. Not long after its introduction, the Escort MK1 became extremely successful as a rally car and arguably, one of the all-time greatest.

BMW E30 M3

Manufacturing of the BMW E30 M3 began in 1986 and quickly rose to fame, becoming one of the UK’s best selling cars.

The M3 was extremely popular in the racing world, winning various championships including the likes of;

British Touring Car Championship
European Touring Car Championship
World Touring Car Championship

Even now the new M3 is widely regarded as a fantastic car but we love the original just that little bit more!

Audi Quattro

Last but by no means least we come to the Audi Quattro.

The Quattro was in face the first rally car to take advantage of the then-recently changed rules, allowing the use of four-wheel-drive in competition racing.

The original Quattro was released to the public as a road car in the late 1980’s. It featured its namesake four-wheel-drive and was the first Audi to pair four-wheel-drive with a turbocharged engine.

The Audi could reach a top speed of over 140mph and could hit 60mph in 7.1s.

So there you have it, our top 5 iconic cars that get that little bit better with age! However, naming the next 5 in-house has sparked a debate…
