This can be removed and stored safely in the boot.So what do we think the general public will think of the T-ROC?Well, we’re almost certain it will divide opinion. From the concept designs, it looks like Volkswagen has taken an SUV and just placed a big hand on top of the roof to squash it a little. It’s almost like what they did with the recent Scirocco models. It’s a bit of an odd one. It has the body of a full SUV but the roof of a sports coupe making it almost disproportional. However, this writer kind of likes it. Yes, I might be a little weird, but its interesting, it’s quirky and it’s unlike many things out on the road today. And variety is the spice of life, isn’t it?Under the bonnet is a fuel-efficient, turbodiesel engine capable of delivering 184 PS and 380 Nm of torque at 1,750 rpm. It is twinned to a seven-speed DSG gearbox and a 4MOTION all-wheel-drive system. All this means the car can reach a top speed of 130 mph and achieve a zero to 62 mph time of 6.9 seconds. It also has a predicted fuel consumption of 57.6 mph, with emissions limited to around 129g\/km of CO2 – which isn’t half bad for an SUV.The T-ROC will also be versatile, with three driving modes suiting a range of environments, weather conditions and terrains. These include ‘street’, ‘offroad’ and ‘snow’ settings, which can be selected by turning the wheel on the DSG shift grop.It also comes with quality technology, including a 12.3 inch colour display tablet fitted into the dashboard. The multi-touch display allows users to select a range of important driver information.Volkswagen’s design team has said the model features the brand’s “SUV DNA”, including a 3D radiator grille with honeycomb shaped openings, LED headlights, daytime running lights and round headlamp modules. So what do you think of the T-ROC? It’s not the craziest of cars, but it’s not the most conventional either. However, when driving it, you’re almost certain to stand out."},{"@context":"https:\/\/schema.org\/","@type":"BreadcrumbList","itemListElement":[{"@type":"ListItem","position":1,"name":"Latest News","item":"https:\/\/smart-motoring.com\/latest-news\/#breadcrumbitem"},{"@type":"ListItem","position":2,"name":"Cars","item":"https:\/\/smart-motoring.com\/latest-news\/\/cars\/#breadcrumbitem"},{"@type":"ListItem","position":3,"name":"Volkswagen T-Roc: T-errific or T-errible?","item":"https:\/\/smart-motoring.com\/latest-news\/cars\/volkswagen-t-roc-t-errific-t-errible\/#breadcrumbitem"}]}]
