The car offers bespoke touches that gives the range a premium feel through its equipment in both standard and GT trims.However, the German carmaker has added to its popular range and innovated the model by producing the brand new CC R-Line, giving the driver much more style and performance.This latest line adds to the already generous equipment list of the GT, but provides a more dramatic look with its introduction of a distinctive front grille tailored especially for the R-Line. Volkswagen’s newest model also has round fog lights, R-Line front bumper, a specialised logo in the radiator grille, sill extensions, LED daytime running lights and 18-inch \u2018Mallory’ alloy wheels, setting it apart from other models in the line.Attention to detail has been a top priority for the German engineers as the bespoke additions carry on inside the car too. Stepping into the cab, there is a R-Line multi-function steering wheel and trim that gives the driver a very distinctive and special look to the interior. The premium trims add that little bit extra and complete the overall look of the inside cab.The steering wheel also houses a number of buttons, allowing drivers to effortlessly navigate through phone contacts and place a call without having to negotiate with a voice-recognition system. Performance wise, the car’s turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine provides the vehicle with 200 hp and 207 lb-ft of torque.However, despite the various additions in the R-Line, it commands a premium of just \u00a3650 over the equivalent GT, as prices start at just \u00a329,505.Volkswagen has been eager to please a range of drivers, providing two different engine options for its latest vehicle. Both will be available with R-Line trim. The first will be a 2.0-litre 210 PS TSI petrol, while the other is a 2.0-litre 177 PS TDI with BlueMotion Technology and includes the \u00a0battery regeneration and Stop\/Start systems.Writing for car website AutoGuide, Sami Haj-Assaad, said: “The CC also rewards drivers with its handling and suspension. The flat-bottomed steering wheel is responsive and offers reasonable feedback for an electric power steering setup. The suspension is firm without being too stiff, and feels like an Audi product despite using different suspension components.”He added that the model is still “as practical as a sedan” and professional enough to feel like a luxury car.Speaking of the vehicle’s performance he said, although it may not sound like anything special, paired with “Volkswagen\u2019s quick-shifting dual-clutch automatic and you\u2019ll be surprised how well this car moves”.The two engines both bring the option for customers to choose between a six-speed manual or a smooth-shifting DSG gearbox. The petrol engine will give drivers a decent 38.7 mpg on the combined cycle, while the manual TDI returns a very frugal 58.9 mpg.Volkswagen’s CC R-Line is now available to order from the company’s range of retailers across the UK.
