The beginning of August made way for one of the biggest car festivals in the UK, USC. We won’t hide the fact that the weather on Saturday was poor, it was raining, heavy, causing areas of the campsites to flood.
But on Sunday, the heavens cleared and it made way for a really good day and end to USC 2014. There was so much on it ticked the boxes for everyone; bass-heads, drifters, dragsters, showers and everything in between.
VIBE were present yet again this year, with a newly refurbished bass tunnel, this thing is INSANE! If you are not careful it will literally blow your eardrums. The tunnel consists of 40, yes you read that correctly 40, Space subwoofers, which in turn are being powered by 20 amplifiers and just to make sure you get the bass shaking through your bones they have added a bass generator for extra measure!
VIBE also had their more mobile, Ford Focus RS Demo car, which has been kitted out with 12” Blackair Subwoofers (x6), Blackair Bass Amplifier (x4), Blackair 6×9 (x4), Blackair Stereo Amplifiers (x2) and Liteair 6×6 for the doors. It’s bass-on-the-go!
EMMA-UK were also there hosting the EMMA 2014 Championship for all audio built cars to compete against one another, aiming to win Best Audio award.
Our friends over at Performance Direct were present and had this stunning Mini on display which has had all of the work carried out by the talented guys over at EMP Performance in St. Albans. Dressed up in an Urban Camo influenced design and then slammed on a set of Fifteen52 Tarmacs, which have made this one Mini not to be messed with.
The interior has been adorned with a flocked dash and door cars and your posterior will be comfortable and safe in the very lush Cobra Seats. The rear seats have been removed and a false-floor has been added to tidy it up and show off the VIBE Blackair Subwoofer dominating the back.
Onto the drifting and what follows even I struggled to believe. Podkhana was something thought up by the geniuses at Santa Pod to keep things interesting. The usual rear-wheel-drive culprits were there: Subaru Impreza, Nissan Silvia S14’s, BMW E36 and a Vauxhall Corsa.
A Corsa drifting?! NEVER! Well, actually yes, seen with my own two eyes and even captured by Grant (the photographer). This humble little hatch back has been fitted with a Subaru engine allowing for some insane skidding!
The Show & Shine section of the show was also very heated, luckily as the day went on the weather improved and people’s spirits were definitely lifted after hours of prepping their cars!
This white Honda Civic Coupe was lovely and very clean! A very vibrant red leather interior set the car off from the gloss white paint work and the concave Rota wheels were also finished in white – a round of applause to the owner for keeping the car so clean!
Geoff from Havair was there with his stunning Porsche Boxster still on original Porsche Twists painted in a custom teal.
A reminder of how things kicked off in the early days of modern day modifying.
This Civic Type-R has a very track inspired look, with a large rear diffuser and big wing on the rear and canards on the front.
The track also has a lot going on and Santa Pod was yet again visited by a racing group from Portugal who also have a few mad diesel machines running low figures!
Subaru vs Subaru – who will win?
A Renault GT 5 Turbo vs a Nissan Micra with screamer pipes out the bonnet, why not?
