The new Porsche Panamera has only been on the market for a few months but the German sports car manufacturer has wasted no time in fleshing out options for the four-seat four-door luxury saloon.

A new three-litre V6 turbo engine and a new long-wheelbase Executive trim has been added to the second-generation Panamera range, culminating in six new variants for you to choose from.

This new engine, which has also appeared in sister brand Audi’s S4, S5 Coupe and S5 Sportback to fairly remarkable results, can produce up to 325bhp – 20bhp more than the naturally-aspirated 3.6-litre V6 it replaces.

It is also up to 13 per cent more fuel efficient, returning 35.8mpg in the standard wheelbase Panamera (previously 33.2mpg) and 37.7mpg in the longer wheelbase model.

No word yet on exactly how quick this new 3L V6 turbo actually is but its predecessor did nought to 62mph in 6.3 seconds, so expect an improvement on that.

With 150mm added to the space between the front and rear wheel, the longer models expand on equipment, not just the car’s exterior body.

Porsche Panamera 4S Executive

These Executive models (that’s Porsche talk for ‘long wheelbase’) include a large panoramic roof, heated seats with multi-way powered adjustment in the front and rear, a roll-up sunblind behind the rear seat headrests and adaptive air suspension with an electronically-controlled damper system.

Long wheelbase buyers can choose from the all-wheel drive Panamera 4 Executive with 325bhp, the Panamera 4 E-Hybrid Executive (455bhp), Panamera 4S Executive (433bhp) and Panamera Turbo Executive (542bhp).

Fancy extras include a new large rear centre console, which can be equipped with two integrated folding tables and an inductive antenna connection for an additional smartphone.

Another luxury option adds 10.1-inch entertainment displays to the backs of the front headrests that can also be used as tablets outside the vehicle.

The Executive exteriors can be further individualised with the addition of a Sport design package, which adds flashier, more aggressive styling.

Prices start at £66,386 for the standard V6 Panamera. Adding all-wheel drive hikes the RRP to £69,412, while its Executive counterpart costs £76,034.

The plug-in petrol-electric hybrid Executive commands a £84,838 ticket price, while Porsche asks £98,672 for the long wheelbase 4S model. Finally, at £122,480, the range-topping Turbo Executive costs almost twice as much as the standard V6.
