And two, how does an extra 30bhp sound?Porsche has gifted its Evoque rival with a new performance package that raises the bar for sporty compact SUVs. Available on the Macan Turbo for \u00a368,073 all-in, the new upgrade hacks almost half a second from the standard Turbo model\u2019s 0-62mph sprint, completing the benchmark in 4.4 seconds. It uses the same twin-turbocharged 3.6-litre V6 petrol engine but the increased power output means that its top speed is upped four points to 169mph, while maximum torque is raised by 50Nm to 600Nm. In sport plus mode, it can dart from 49mph to 74mph in 2.9 seconds, a fifth of a second quicker than before, making overtaking that little easier. Its seven-speed PDK double-clutch automatic transmission delivers short response times, and optimised gear changes and torque to unlock the swiftest acceleration.Going quicker is fine and dandy but what if you need to stop quick too? Well the boffins at Porsche have thought of that too by fitting a newly developed braking system with new 390mm diameter brake discs, 30mm larger than those on the standard Macan Turbo. The addition of the performance package also results in a lowered body, and introduces a controlled sports chassis and sports exhaust system. What about personalisation options? Yep, there are plenty of ways to make the Macan your own with optional 21-inch diameter 911 Turbo design alloys, black leather interior with alcantara elements, and various other elements can be spec’d in black or white. With the introduction of the performance package, Porsche says it is upping the ante on driving dynamic standards first set with the original Macan Turbo. Who are we to argue?"},{"@context":"https:\/\/schema.org\/","@type":"BreadcrumbList","itemListElement":[{"@type":"ListItem","position":1,"name":"Latest News","item":"https:\/\/smart-motoring.com\/latest-news\/#breadcrumbitem"},{"@type":"ListItem","position":2,"name":"Cars","item":"https:\/\/smart-motoring.com\/latest-news\/\/cars\/#breadcrumbitem"},{"@type":"ListItem","position":3,"name":"Sports Performance And Prestige Cars","item":"https:\/\/smart-motoring.com\/latest-news\/\/cars\/\/sports-performance-and-prestige-cars\/#breadcrumbitem"},{"@type":"ListItem","position":4,"name":"New Porsche Macan","item":"https:\/\/smart-motoring.com\/latest-news\/cars\/sports-performance-and-prestige-cars\/new-porsche-macan\/#breadcrumbitem"}]}]
