Fans of Ferrari will want to get down to the Silverstone Grand Prix circuit in September for the chance to see a host of track activities by the car brand in a single weekend.
At the Ferrari Racing Days, the likes of the Formula One (F1) Clienti, XX programme, Pirelli Ferrari Open and the Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli will be seen on the track. This makes it the only European race meeting, bar the Finali Mondiali, where the track activities can be seen in an event of this length.
Ferrari owners will also get to take their place on the track as a special tribute parade will be held there on the Saturday. This follows on from a similar event in 2012 when a new Guinness World Record was set for the Largest Parade of Ferrari Cars. On that occasion, 964 vehicles of this brand took to the track. For those who want to take part in the parade, registration is only available on the day.
Each day, historic and important cars from Ferrari’s racing heritage will be getting on the track, thanks to the F1 Clienti. These cars will complete demonstration laps and Ferrari clients will get the chance to own and drive a Ferrari F1 car on a grand prix circuit, which would be a dream come true for many.
Fans will also get a glimpse of experimental development cars as the XX programme will have them taking to the track twice each day. As part of this, Client Test Drivers will be able to drive their XX programme cars around the circuit.
As well as these events, fans will get to enjoy the spectacle of the Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli and the Pirelli Ferrari Open.
The former is a racing series purely open to mid-engine V8 cars by Ferrari, it was originally established in 1993. Two 30 minute races are due to be conducted at the Ferrari Racing Days by experienced and “Gentleman” drivers as rounds five and seven of the European series. The 458 Challenge EVO car lineup is currently being raced in the Ferrari Challenge and as well as the European races, there are also events in North America and Asia Pacific. Only dealers and official preparation companies are authorised to enter into the race.
Meanwhile, the Pirelli Ferrari Open is a series of races that is owned by the Ferrari Owner’s Club. Previous Ferrari Challenge cars can apply to take place in this event. Entrants will have their cars running on Pirelli tyres only, the premium tyre brand that is synonymous with F1. Pirelli has both slick and wet tyres that are available for use in the Ferrari Open.
If all of that isn’t enough, attendees will also get to enjoy an F1 display that will be put on by Scuderia Ferrari on the Sunday.
The event takes place on the 13th and 14th September and tickets are £15. Children aged 15 and under can go for free when accompanied by a paying adult.
