Although predominantly a VW show, most VAG (Volkswagen Audi Group) cars were in high attendance at the GTi Spring Festival. Kicking off April’s jam-packed, car-shows calendar were various motors, from perfectly restored MK I Golfs and stanced Seat Leons, to diesel-powered Skodas.
Overcast skies were daring to mess with happy moods first thing in the morning, but driving to Santa Pod always gives a little buzz of excitement – seeing a few good looking cars on the way up too! Bonus!
With the weather being very British, we weren’t expecting the show to be rammed to the gates with awesome dubs and other amazing German machines. What the weather did do though, was act as a filter, we agree the quantity wasn’t there, but the quality was! Some of the cars were jaw-dropping, the attention to detail was stunning on particular models, something any true VW enthusiast would appreciate.
It was thanks to these hard-core, “down-to-the-bone” enthusiasts that the show was such an enjoyable experience. As with any VW show, everyone is friendly and the atmosphere that it creates is brilliant! If you have a question about a particular part or modification the owner(s) are usually there to quickly give an answer and also some pointers on how to do it better than them!
