So what are the most anticipated vehicles at this year’s event?
BMW X3
The latest in SUV design from BMW will be heading to New York in the shape of the X3. It features the latest generation of the manufacturer’s TwinPower Turbo diesel engines, offering power and performance without heavy CO2 emissions.
The standard X3 sDrive18d model can produce 150 hp and 360 Nm of torque, with a 0-62 mph speed of 9.5 seconds and a top speed of 121 mph. This is possible while offering 56.5 mpg and emitting just 131g/km of carbon dioxide.
Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG
Mercedes’ stunning new S63 AMG Coupe is set to be a big hit in New York, becoming the most powerful member of the brand’s BlueDIRECT engine family.
Under the bonnet is the AMG 5.5-litre V8 bi-turbo engine, delivering 585 hp and 900 Nm of torque. It’s pretty monstrous!
This equates to a 0-62 mph speed of 3.9 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph. Let’s not forget that it’s absolutely beautiful to boot.
Rolls Royce Ghost II
After a successful debut at the Geneva Motor Show, the latest luxury vehicle from Rolls Royce is set to cross the Atlantic to take its place at the New York Auto Show.
Oozing class and refinement, the new Ghost II is a truly timeless vehicle and is the pinnacle of motoring excellence.
It comes with a whole range of useful technology too, including on-board Wi-Fi and satellite aided transmission – a technology that gets the car to adapt to its surroundings to offer the best possible drive experience.
Cadillac Elmiraj
This new concept from Cadillac offers the kind of muscular, raw power we’ve come to expect from the iconic brand.
According to the manufacturer, it is ‘a bold new expression on the sheer pleasure of luxury driving’.
It comes with a 4.5-litre twin turbocharged V8 engine, creating an estimated 500hp. It’s sure to be a pretty mean motor.
Toyota FT-1
Described by Toyota as the ‘ultimate’ sports coupe concept, the new FT-1 will be making a welcome appearance at the exhibition.
It has already been shown in the US at the Detroit Motor Show, but there is absolutely no harm in it being presented again.
The model features all the aesthetic cues of a racecar, with a curvilinear form and pronounced front wings. This offers quality aerodynamics to help the car perform at its very best.
