Nissan has announced the launch of a new competition that is being run in collaboration with Warner Bros to commemorate the launch of both the new Juke Nismo and the release of The Dark Knight Rises on DVD and Blu-Ray.

Fans of the Hollywood blockbuster can drive in style if they win this unique event, as Nissan has modified a one-off Juke Nismo – NISsan MOtorsport – with a host of Batman-inspired features and details that are sure to set pulses racing both for petrolheads and fans of the caped crusader.

Juke Nismo head on shot

The Dark Knight Rises Juke Nismo is a special design concept that brings the new Juke Nismo crashing into the fictional world of Gotham City, with the car set to make its lucky owner feel just like Bruce Wayne.

Details that help the vehicle standout from the norm include matt black paintwork, aluminium bat logos for both the front and rear, a shark fin antenna reminiscent of the iconic 1960s Batmobile, as well as black 18-inch Nismo alloy wheels complete with red detailing.

In addition, the interior design incorporates a range of bat touches, including an uplighter that projects a Bat symbol on to the vehicle’s headlining, downlighters in door mirrors to project Bat symbol on the floor area by the doors, reflective Bat badges on front and rear headrests and also door sills with Bat logos

All those keen to take home this one-off creation by the Nissan Design Europe team need to head to www.builttothrill.co.uk and take part in the online Thrill Test. Running until February 28th, the competition winner is to be announced by the vehicle manufacturer in early March 2013.

First unveiled at this year’s Paris Motor Show, the standard Juke Nismo has been set up to deliver a “more engaging driving experience” and with this in mind, the model features new front and rear bumpers, wider wings and side skirts, a transformed grille and a new tailgate spoiler.

All of which help to improve aerodynamics and driveability for occupants, the vehicle manufacturer claims.

Andy Palmer, executive vice president for global product planning at Nissan, commented: “The introduction of [the] Juke Nismo further cements our dedication to provide innovation and excitement for everyone.

“The Juke, with its radical design and pioneering attitude, is the natural choice to be one of the first Nissan models to receive the mythical performance and design treatment from our Nismo specialists.”

Wheels of the Nismo

Order books for the new Juke Nismo are to open in the UK in January, with the vehicle delivering 200 PS via its 1.6-litre turbocharged engine and offering acceleration of zero to 62 mph in just 7.8 seconds.

Meanwhile, the Juke R concept was unveiled to the masses at the Dubai International Motor Show back in January this year. With a price tag of £400,000, it was based on a melding of the Juke crossover and the high-performance GT-R.

However, as a result of more than five million views on YouTube and a sustained campaign to bring the model into production, Nissan has relented and will now hold a short production run of the vehicle.

Capable of accelerating from zero to 62 mph in three seconds dead and with a top speed of 170 mph, the Juke R utilises the Nissan GT-R’s powerful 3.8-litre V6 engine, four-wheel drive system and suspension, with the model being hand built by automotive specialists at RML in the UK.

It develops a staggering 545 bhp and while the price tag may put off all but the most affluent of buyers, the sheer speed and performance of this crossover-racer hybrid is sure to capture the hearts of all true car lovers.
