In the BlueTEC version, this amounts to 70.6 mpg and emissions of 103g\/km.Three model lines will also be made available, known as the SE, Sport and the AMG Line. The Sport version adds 17-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, lowered comfort suspension, chrome exterior trim and Garmin Map Pilot Navigation.It is one of the best equipped models in its class, Mercedes has said, with standard features such as a touchpad screen for in-car entertainment, along with Artico upholstery and two-zone air conditioning.There is also a range of practical features, such as a reversing camera, rain sensing wipers, Attention Assist, Speedtronic cruise control, heated windscreen wiper washers, a tyre pressure monitoring system and Collision Prevention Assist Plus. These can all be found in the standard C-Class model.Drivers will be able to select the car’s driving style, with individual modes available. These include Comfort, Eco, Sport, Sport+ and a customisable Individual setting.Dr Thomas Weber, member of the board of management of Daimler AG and the person responsible for group research at Mercedes-Benz Cars Development, said: “Mercedes at its best – that’s the new C-Class, which sets new standards for the mid-range segment on many fronts.“It is characterised by an emotional yet clear design which is continued in the high-quality and modern interior. Its efficient and high-performance engineering provides the basis for a high standard of driving enjoyment.”The car delivers all the class, refinement and quality one would expect from the manufacturer. Its diplomatic look helps to heighten the sense of comfort and style it effortlessly exudes when driving down even the humblest of roads.According to Ola Kallenius, executive vice president of sales and marketing for the manufacturer, it embodies the “best or nothing” mentality that Mercedes-Benz holds so close to its chest.“This is immediately apparent when encountering our new Saloon for the first time, as it creates the impression that one is sitting in a higher class of automobile.
