TV personality James Corden and luxury car brand Mercedes-Benz will be teaming up to create a new online film, but they are going to need the help of a budding few creative minds.
They are launching #CLAstory, a programme aimed at helping aspiring filmmakers and getting them to have their own film commissioned. The film will star James Corden and will have a Mercedes-Benz CLA AMG Sport at the centre it, which is a four-door coupe and a twist on conventional cars.
Anyone is welcome to enter the #CLAstory competition if they are either part of the Mercedes-Benz online community, a film enthusiast, a creative influencer, a film student or just someone with the nous to create a special story.
To give a basic framework for the storyline of the online film, Instagram users Jiri Siftar, Alan Brutenic and Allan Edward Hinton have been working with Mercedes-Benz and James Corden to create three short videos. These are just a few scenes that will make up part of the film; one from the beginning, one from the middle and one from the end.
Entrants to the #CLAstory programme will need to provide the six scenes that are missing. These film directors can show off what they have made by uploading their videos to the Mercedes-Benz UK Instagram channel, titled mercedesbenzuk.
A winning entry will be selected from each of the potential six scenes and then they will be put to public vote to decide who will be directing the #CLAstory. As a prize for getting to the finals, winners of each of the six scenes will receive their own GoPro camera.
Communications and events director for Mercedes-Benz Cars Rob Halloway said: “#CLAstory is an initiative which gives others the chance to tell their story and present the Mercedes-Benz brand in a way that is credible, relevant and appealing to them. It means we can pair an as yet unknown-but-talented director with one of the country’s most well-known actors – and one of our coolest cars.”
