They show a sportier exterior on both the Civic and Civic Tourer, featuring new headlamps, daytime running lights and a sleeker front bumper that has a lower grille mesh. At the back, the Civic hatchback also gets a new rear bumper, side skirts, a rear spoiler with a black finish and LED rear combination lamps. Unique to the Sport version of the new Civic is its 17-inch alloy wheels.

There have also been changes to the inside, with new fabrics on the seats and stitching on the headrests. The doors have got a new trim, with chrome handles, and there is a control panel that is finished in metallic black. A black roof also lines the cabin.

It is powered by a 1.6-litre, 120 PS diesel engine or, alternatively, by a 1.8-litre, 142 PS petrol engine.

The entire range is fitted with Honda’s new City Brake Active system as standard. This system was developed to avoid or reduce the damage caused in low speed accidents. To do this, it utilises radar technology to scan the road ahead and applies the brakes if it detects an imminent collision risk. It works when the car is travelling at less than 30 km/h.

This is not the only piece of technology that the new Civic range will be showing off as the 2015 range is also set to premiere the Honda Connect in-car audio and information system. Honda Connect allows drivers connectivity and convenience while they are on the road. Among its key features are an AM/FM, DAB and Internet Radio, Bluetooth connectivity, internet browsing, satellite navigation and a rear-view parking camera.

It also runs Andriod 4.04, so drivers may be familiar with the pinch, swipe and tap functionality on the display screen that they experience on their smartphones.
