With USC, then Mini In The Park and now Ford Fair, the UK car show season is in full flow, and the weather seems to be holding. Despite a warning of showers, Silverstone stayed sunny and dry much to the relief of the concourse cars and huge array of clubs. When I say huge, I’m not kidding. Most of the infield is chock full of Fords from the National Pit Straight all the way to the trade village up at Maggotts.
By far the most common models were the Focus ST and RS with the owners clubs putting in some real effort to make sure everyone was neatly lined up.
Like Henry Ford almost said, you can have any colour you want as long as it’s white, blue or green…
A few deviated from the norm though, like this RS sporting a set of Rotas, more commonly seen on the Jap and drift scenes.
Speaking of drifting, you don’t have to have a Nissan 200SX to go sideways as the drifting Escorts showed.
The Mk 1 Escorts weren’t the only classic on show.
There’s clean and then there’s concourse clean.
Ford Fair is a real family affair and a little less boisterous than some of the other shows.
Right in the centre of the show was the live action arena where you could find Paul Swift throwing some Focus ST’s around.
Some competition winners even got a two-wheeled lap in front of the crowds.
Paul himself seemed quite pleased with his type saving technique.
No offence to Paul, but I think the KMS Motorsport girls had the better smiles.
Being at Silverstone, the circuit itself is a big draw with track sessions running non-stop.
As it was Ford Fair, this is obviously two Fords passing a rather slow Nissan and most definitely not the other way around!
Ford Fair has a large trade village with all sorts of tuners, car care and audio companies showing off their wares.
