Toyota Motorsport has confirmed specifications on the new GT86 CS-R3. Here is a run down on the features of the finalised version of this car.

CS-R3

Engine

The GT86 CS-R3 features a 1,998 boxer engine. It can reach a maximum power of 235 bhp and maximum torque of 230 Nm at 6,800 rpm.

Transmission

It is a rear wheel drive car that has its engine attached to a drenth six-speed sequential gearbox. There is also limited-slip with ramp setting options. The car has a racing clutch with lightweight flywheel.

Suspension

The front suspension on the car is MacPherson-type, while the rear is Multi-link. Its shock absorbers are made by Reiger and are three-way, adjustable for either gravel or tarmac.

Wheels

Those who choose gravel specification for their GT86 CS-R3 will get six by 15 inch wheels, while the tarmac version will have seven by 17 inch wheels. These are made by OZ Racing.

Dimensions and weight

The GT86 CS-R3 is 4,4240 mm long and 1,775 mm wide. Its wheelbase is 2,570 mm. The car weighs 1,080 kg so that it fits in with Federation Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) regulations.

Chassis

Its body shell is made of steel monocoque and comes with a roof vent. Inside the car is a roll cage that has been homologated to FIA R3 regulations.

Other technical features

The car has been fitted with a racing exhaust and manifold made by HJS. It also has an FT3 safety fuel cell and hydraulic power steering with a short ratio.

First cars will be delivered to customers in May. Orders placed before April 24th 2015 will be able to enjoy a €5,000 (£3,747) discount on the standard retail price. Customers will be able to purchase the car with the CS-R3 kit in tarmac or gravel specification for €79,000.

CS-R3

At the beginning of July, the car will be homologated to FIA R3 regulations. From then on, owners of the GT86 CS-R3 cars will be able to enter them in all national and international rally competitions, including the World Rally Championship.
