Of course. Resplendent in vibrant orange and black, the Toyota FT-Se looks set to pounce.The idea behind this concept is of a possible pending future production lightweight 2-seater with all mod cons.This would likely include Toyota prismatic battery technology; tech that promises to improve on range and charge times – nothing to moan about there of course, as battery technology seems to have recently started a bit of a revolution in how we are likely to perceive battery power in the near future.The Toyota FT-Se is a high-performance sports car which takes on board the experience of Toyota Gazoo Racing in their quest to try to produce even better cars via the medium of ‘motorsport’.Part of the tech available allows the FT-Se to update itself with software downloads to further better the driving experience.Visually, the car looks very stable in that it is fairly wide and very low to the ground.With recent concepts going down the 1970s angular route, the Toyota FT-Se looks to be purely the result of coloured smoke drifting over its shape in a wind tunnel – it’s curvy and sleek, and you really can see how the FT-Se should cut through the air like a warm knife in butter. The FT-Se will be all-wheel drive but with an emphasis on the rear to create some excitement and improve certain aspects of the car’s handling.Of course, potentially this would allow for drifting, something that remains a big thing in Japan where it originated.Underneath, the Toyota FT-Se will be part of the Arene software platform which Toyota are branding as an updatable operating system.Arene sounds like it will be able to feedback to Toyota what is happening in each car to allow for future improvements via a software update.Yes, we have reached a time when future EV sports cars will be enhanced by apps, not unlike the tablet you may be reading this article on.Inside, the twin cockpit appears to be based on the encapsulation you would get sitting in a fighter jet, not least due to the unusual rectangular steering wheel and the feel of being completely enclosed. Part of what we see here are unique kneepads that are designed to protect the driver from extreme G-forces.It looks like how I might imagine a car to look if I’d forgotten to think about dials, though the inside is very attractive, while also very sparse.The Toyota FT-Se will make its debut at Japan’s Tokyo Mobility Show from 26 October to 5 November. Toyota says that the concept is designed to become a ‘lifestyle partner’ that will be uniquely aligned to each customer, which partly explains the continuous ability to download and update and improve the overall driving experience.Aside from all of this rather mind-boggling tech, sits an exciting looking car that Toyota suggests might actually, in some form or other, reach production."},{"@context":"https://schema.org/","@type":"BreadcrumbList
@type":"ListItem
{"@type":"ListItem
{"@type":"ListItem
{"@type":"ListItem
Toyota FT-Se 2-Seater EV Sports-car
https://smart-motoring.com/latest-news/cars/concepts/toyota-ft-se-2-seater-ev-sports-car/#breadcrumbitem"}]}]
