Italian automotive manufacturer FIAT and luxury yacht manufacturer Riva have joined forces to create a new car that reflects the values and aesthetics of both brands.
The basis of the partnership is the FIAT 500 model from 1957, which is responsible for mobilising Italy in its entirety.
It’s credited with giving millions of people the opportunity to experience the personal freedom of car ownership, as an affordable, stylish and extremely fun car to drive.
Alongside the model from the 50s, the Aquarama Riva speedboat rose into the public eye and stole Italy’s attention and heart.
The boat is incredibly elegant, well built and was seen as something of a status symbol that helped to make Riva one of the world’s most respected premium boat manufacturers.
Sixty years after it was first built, boat and automobile have converged to create the FIAT 500 Riva, which aims to combine the exclusivity of the yacht with an accessible, everyday package.
Adding to the exclusive image of the car, it’s going to be finished in it’s very own Sera Blue colour that really adds to the limited edition credentials of the model.
If you like things a bit more windblown and interesting, there is a convertible version of the FIAT 500 Riva, which gets a blue soft top. The hatchback version isn’t missing out though, as it comes with a panoramic glass roof as standard.
However, it’s the detailing on the new model that is what makes it special, starting with the special edition colour, we move onto the mirror caps, which are finished in chrome, along with the handles and the bonnet trim.
Enjoy the brand new 16-inch, 20-spoke alloy wheels, which again have been specifically created for this nautical/automotive hybrid.
Looking at interiors, the dashboard is finished in hand-painted mahogany with maple inlay – all of this has been inserted by hand, which means that each creation is truly unique.
The new FIAT 500 Riva will be available in the UK at the end of August, with pricing starting from £11,050 for the 1.2-litre 68 bhp variant.
