The weather made it very difficult for us, but the drivers and mechanics did an outstanding job and the championship silverware is the right reward for their hard work over the season.”Before the race began, they were sitting in joint second of the Teams Championship, while they were third in the drivers. As the race began and the weather was not in their favour, the Bentleys slipped back but were able to regain higher positions when the track dried later.Driver Guy Smith said of the team’s experience of the race: \u201cFinishing so well in the championship feels fantastic, but we were really made to work for it today.”He went on to explain how the two hours of racing that he did at the start was some of the toughest he has ever done. That was due to the wet conditions on the track, which made it difficult to grip.Smith managed to keep a high position during his time on the track but the second racer, Andy Meyrick, had the misfortune of having a spin and a drive-through penalty that held him back.Following this, the car passed to Steven Kane and the team made a risky decision to switch to slick tyres as the road dried. However, it paid off as the car became the fastest on the track and Kane was able to finish in seventh."},{"@context":"https:\/\/schema.org\/","@type":"BreadcrumbList","itemListElement":[{"@type":"ListItem","position":1,"name":"Latest News","item":"https:\/\/smart-motoring.com\/latest-news\/#breadcrumbitem"},{"@type":"ListItem","position":2,"name":"Cars","item":"https:\/\/smart-motoring.com\/latest-news\/\/cars\/#breadcrumbitem"},{"@type":"ListItem","position":3,"name":"Bentley 2nd in Blancpain Endurance Series","item":"https:\/\/smart-motoring.com\/latest-news\/cars\/bentley-2nd-blancpain-endurance-series\/#breadcrumbitem"}]}]
