This allows the car to achieve 113mpg while emitting just 59g\/km of CO2.This is all pretty impressive, but add this to the fact the car can hit the 62mph mark from standing in just 3.7 seconds and achieve a top speed of 190 mph, and the mind simply boggles.Member of the board of AUDI AG Technical Development Dr Ulrich Hackenberg, said: \u201cThe new show car demonstrates technical \u2018Vorsprung\u2019 on many levels. On-board this car we have e-tron technology with 700 PS of power and 113mpg fuel economy; laser headlights that leave all previous systems in the dark with its higher performance as well as new display and operating systems with cutting-edge electronic performance. We are showing the future of Audi here.\u201dThe laserlight moniker is added due to the LED lighting found in the dual headlights. It combines MatrixBeam LEDs and laser light technologies to achieve high-beam functionality.Inclusion of this technology demonstrates just how Audi are planning for the future and delivering ground-breaking technologies that have real world capabilities.According to Audi, the body-shape is balanced across its large-wheels, while overhangs are minimal. On the whole, the proportions of the car deliver athletic balance, further improving its sporty demeanour and speeds.A hexagonal single-frame grille adds extra attitude and signals a potential future signature for Audi production models.Body weight is kept to an absolute minimum in order to increase performance. An ultra high-strength steel sheet and structural elements of cast aluminium help to make this possible, while aluminium doors, wings, roof, bonnet and rear hatch also contribute to the extra low weight of 1,850kg. This includes the large battery pack used for the plug-in energy storage system.Drivers can switch between the power modes through the use of an intelligent management system.For example, EV mode sees just the electric motor in operation.
