The Alfa Romeo 4C Spider is now available to order in the UK and has already attracted significant praise for its advanced aerodynamic styling.
Prices for the car, which is built on an ultra-lightweight carbon fibre monocoque, start at £59,500 and the model could prove a strong alternative to Alfa Romeo’s 4C Coupe.
The Spider is powered by a 240 hp 1750 TBi engine with a top speed of 160 mph and is capable of 0 to 60 mpg in less than 4.5 seconds. According to the stats, the car can generate the same 1.1g of lateral acceleration and 1.25g of braking deceleration as the Coupe.
Designers have also opted for a new carbon-fibre air intake system, which should benefit track drivers.
In terms of wheels, the 4C Spider has a number of options to order including 17/18-inch (front/rear) or 18/19-inch sizes in silver or dark finishes.
Inside, owners will discover a new Alpine head unit and Alfa sound system, it is also expected that Alfa Romeo will offer further interior options later in the year, as well as a carbon fibre hardtop at some point.
The 4C Spider will be assembled alongside the Coupe at Alfa Romeo’s sister company Maserati in Modena, Italy and around 3,500 cars will be produced each year.
