The Baby II Carbon Edition is essentially a celebration of the last of these W16 Mistral Roadsters.The Bugatti Baby II has been built in conjunction with the much respected Little Car Company, who we have featured previously with their excellent and meticulously detailed Aston Martin DB5 Junior. The Baby II will be hand built to each customer’s personal specification, mirroring some of the interior detail of the W16. Talking of mirrors, the deep black gloss finish on the example seen here is like looking into a black mirror and certainly adds sophistication and depth. As you might expect, the car also incorporates plenty of carbon fibre detail, with carbon radiator and grille parts on show. A beautiful dashboard fascia is also constructed out of carbon along with interior panels and there is also a carbon centre for the removable steering wheel (a little more on that later). Some additional weight-saving has been achieved by removing the spare wheel and bracket.Bugatti has stated that in honour of its home country, owners can also choose to have a hand-painted French flag added to the side if they wish. It’s not the first we’ve seen of the Bugatti Baby II, as back in 2019 a limited run of 500 Baby IIs were built also in collaboration with the Little Car Company, celebrating the 110th anniversary of the Bugatti car company. The car itself of course is a replica of the original Bugatti Baby from 1926, but at a 75 per cent scale.Inside, the Baby II Carbon Edition features dials inspired by the original Type 35 dials on the outside, but with modern technology on the inside – this is a mini replica with quite a few modern touches to improve driving and longevity. As such, the fuel pressure gauge has been recommissioned as the battery level indicator, and the oil gauge has been converted to become the power gauge. A nice touch to aid getting in and out of the Baby II is that quick release steering wheel – definitely a plus point in a car that is going to be a tight fit for some. Down below, EB (Ettore Bugatti) monikered pedals are machined from solid aluminium billet, and a decorative fuel pump handle is an exact scale replica of the one to be found in the original car.Power comes from a 2.8kWh battery pack with an option to upgrade to Speed Key adding an extra 10kWh. So, what you get here is a mini classic electric car that can reach speeds of just under 30mph. There is also a Novice mode, that reduces this to just over 12mph.If you are interested in what can only be described as a vehicle that sits somewhere between luxury toy and what we might think of as a traditional toy (a classic Big Boy’s Toy if you will) then this carbon fibre edition of the Bugatti Baby II model will sell for around 80,000 euros – depending on your choice of personalisation options of course.Images: bugatti.com"},{"@context":"https://schema.org/","@type":"BreadcrumbList
@type":"ListItem
{"@type":"ListItem
Bugatti Announce Bugatti Baby II Carbon Edition
https://smart-motoring.com/latest-news/bugatti-announce-bugatti-baby-ii-carbon-edition/#breadcrumbitem"}]}]
