Last weekend brought us the renowned Autosport International show at the NEC Birmingham arena. The line-up, which was anticipated, was off the charts.
This year’s Autosport International event was sporting a new look compared to previous events. With designated sectors for National Motorsport, Karting, Careers & Education, Trade & Technical and Historic venues. As well as this an Engineering Show, a Performance & Tuning Car Show and a Live Action Arena spread over five halls.
This year, one of the star attractions was the F1 cars from the 2018 season. Strolling past the winning Mercedes, wondering how on earth they manage to get these beasts to stick to the tarmac while walking past a bronze sculpture honouring Ayrton Senna who sadly passed 25 years ago.
This year, Autosport International were glad to welcome back social media superstar Yiannimize along with Urban Automotive and Nero Design. You wouldn’t have missed Yianni with his matching Lamborghini Urus & Aventador S wrapped in his iconic chrome turquoise. Urban Automotive were close to stealing the show with their luxury SUV’s especially their 2019 Mercedes G-Class.
Le Mans Esports series featured this year where visitors were able to get behind a simulated wheel and race for the chance to be in Sundays final. The winner of Sundays final will attend the live Super Final in June. This showed Autosport continues to bring cutting edge Esport simulation and went down a treat in Hall 1 this weekend.
Saturday was the launch of the 2019 FIA World Rally Championship. Meet and greets and Q&A’s were the vocal point of stand 3350 as drivers, co-drivers and team principals were all present at the show. 2019 rally cars from M-Sport, Hyundai and Toyota racing teams. Autosport International 2019 really had everything! Over three days it captured the true essence of the motoring world and these events allow fans to get a taste of what it is all about.
