Aston Martin Celebrate 110th Anniversary with the Aston Martin Valour

The impressive Aston Martin Valour is a V12 celebration of Aston’s 110th anniversary; as a limited-edition model, Aston must be delighted to announce that all of the 110 units have now sold out within 2 weeks of the car’s release.

Each of the lucky new owners will be able to fully customise each new car via Aston’s Q service, which allows such bespoke items as one-off livery as well as numerous other sundry personalisation options.

More John Wick than James Bond…

The Aston Martin Valour is perhaps more John Wick than James Bond, and manages to offer up an aggressive yet thoroughly refined look from every angle, including above.

Each Valour will be based around the initial V12 Vantage with DBS-style power from the V12 5.2-litre engine, pushing out 705bhp along with 555lb ft of torque.

State Of The Art Valour

The Valour is a state-of-the-art driver’s car intended to be pushed to its limits.

With such a combination of good looks and exciting power, you get a bit of an inkling as to why the sports car sold out within such a phenomenally short period of time.

Aston say that the ethos behind the rear-wheel drive Valour is to enable the driver to experience a ‘truly involving’ driving experience, thanks in part, to a hands-on bespoke 6-speed manual gearbox.

Shock absorption and the car’s overall drive and feel comes from bespoke adjustable dampers and a power steering setup that is designed to allow the driver an even more detailed connection and feel whilst driving the Valour.

The car also gets a mechanical LSD helping to connect the driver to the road. Dampers, anti-roll bars and springs are all tuned specifically for the Aston Martin Valour, and resistance to roll is finely tuned to work along with the car’s ability to also be a comfortable drive on longer journeys.

Stopping comes courtesy of carbon ceramic discs, with the front pair measuring 410mm x 38mm using 6-piston callipers.

The rear of the car gets 360mm x 32mm and 4-piston callipers; this just might give a hint of the power the Valour can offer. In front of these are four lightweight and very nicely detailed honeycomb wheels.

Inspiration From Classic Aston Martin Muscle Cars

Aston Martin’s Director of Vehicle Performance, Simon Newton, says that the inspiration for the Valour was the classic muscle car from AM’s past – and looking at the Valour, I’m sure the designers probably took a few cues from similar muscle cars from different manufacturers too.

Meanwhile, Miles Numberger, Aston Martin’s Director of Design, says that the manufacturer’s design ideals are always progressive, but they allow themselves some latitude when celebrating such milestones as a 110th birthday.

In an age where the V12 engine will be appearing less and less, and as we head towards electric vehicles dominating our roads, Numberger’s comment might well be hinting towards Aston’s future as well as its past.

In any case, what Aston Martin has managed to achieve here is to create a very limited-edition vehicle that most definitely has fan approval.

If the Valour does go on to become one of Aston Martin’s most coveted vehicles, then I think the company will have certainly done themselves proud.
