The Roadster includes a handful of additional design updates that aid in creating a modest, understated aesthetic.Aston Martin Evolves With New V12 Vantage The most noticeable of these changes – after the open-top – is the removal of the rear spoiler. To subsequently maintain the vehicle’s aerodynamic balance, the underbody has been modified to ensure airflow is managed efficiently, though drivers who are adamant about holding on to the wing will have the option to keep it installed. From a technical perspective, this ultimately means that the new Vantage will still produce “up to ten times ten times the downforce of the series production Vantage Roadster,” according to Roberto Fedeli, Aston Martin Chief Technical Officer. The 21-inch alloy wheels are offered in two finishes, Satin Black or Satin Black Diamond Turned. A third forged wheel option is also available in either of the aforementioned colours, which will spare you 8kg of unsprung mass. All alloys are sheathed in Michelin Pilot 4S high-performance tyres as standard. The new Vantage houses the same 5.2-litre V12 engine capable of producing 700PS at 6500 rpm, and 753Nm of torque at 5500 rpm. This is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission, integrated with adaptive software that monitors both operating conditions and driver demands to facilitate a more controlled and responsive driving experience. The Roadster also inherits the standard Vantage’s suspension hardware, with only a slight modification made for its adaptive dampers. For those wondering if the Roadster’s speed departed with its roof, fear not. Aston Martin’s latest offering does 0 to 60mph in a mere 3.5 seconds, with its top speed still marked as 200mph. Inside, the new Vantage is furnished with the company’s Sports Plus Seats as standard. For drivers looking to optimise support, there is the option to have a carbon fibre performance seat with an exposed twill carbon fibre shell and manual 6-way adjustment fitted. Those truly hoping to make the car their own will be glad to hear that this is only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the Roadster’s customisation options; The manufacturer’s bespoke personalisation service, Q by Aston Martin, offers a whole host of additional features from exterior graphics and liveries, to woven leather and tinted lacquers that change appearance under different lighting conditions. If you were keen to get your hands on the new Vantage Roadster, then unfortunately you’re out of luck. Production for Aston Martin’s newest creation is limited to just 249 customer examples globally, with all units already sold ahead of a 2022 Q4 release.Images: https://media.astonmartin.com/introducing-the-new-v12-vantage-roadster-the ultimate-expression-of-style-sound-and-speed/Exciting News for Aston Martin Vantage Enthusiasts:The Aston Martin Vantage continues to evolve, and the 2024 model brings significant upgrades that are worth your attention.
