The DBX SUV gets some next-level customisation from Q by Aston Martin, including plenty of carbon fibre!
The new Aston Martin DBX has only just been revealed and yet it’s already been given a full makeover. Q by Aston Martin is a customisation service that’s responsible for creating the most special Aston vehicles to ever leave the factory, including cars like the Red Bull Racing Edition of the V8 Vantage S.
The guys and gals at Q by Aston Martin have worked their magic on the all-new DBX luxury SUV to make it stand out even more at the 2020 Geneva Motor Show. Showcasing a ‘darker side’ to what the DBX can be, this custom model provides another example of Q by Aston Martin’s rule-breaking style.

The award-winning in-house design team have given the DBX a dark theme, with dark grey satin paint called ‘Xenon Grey’, 22” gloss black alloys and a carbon fibre splitter, diffuser and mirror caps.
Moving onto the interior, this custom DBX gets even more special. A bespoke diamond-patterned satin chrome jewellery pack machined from solid gracefully blends with the Obsidian Black leather found on the seats and dashboard.
More carbon fibre is found in the door inserts and around the centre console by the armrest, and we’re not talking about a little strip of carbon either. There is a serious amount of it!
If that’s not enough carbon for you, look to the boot for literally…wait for it…a bootload of it! Essentially, the whole boot floor is lined with the ultra-lightweight material usually found in performance vehicles. A very nice touch indeed.
Some of these carbon bits, such as the pieces found by the centre console, have been machined from a solid block made up of 280 individual layers of hand-laid carbon fibre weave. Once laid, the weave then goes through a 12-hour curing process and a 90-hour milling process before being installed in the car. Talk about exclusive customisation!

The DBX is big and flashy and as Reichman said, makes for a great ‘canvas’ for customisation enthusiasts to paint on. This special edition DBX will be put on show at the 2020 Geneva Motor Show (stand 2299, if you happen to be there) and various options such as the satin grey paint, carbon fibre lower exterior pack and black anodised tread and sill plaques are available to order right now, for any DBX buyers looking for extra personalisation.
Just when we thought the DBX couldn’t get any cooler, with the rear light design from the Vantage and the way they have nailed the ‘beefy’ super SUV aesthetic, Q by Aston Martin come out with this masterpiece. Perhaps this will help save the company from their financial turmoil.
