The latter is apparently Aston Martin’s most expensive car to date and each one takes approximately 4,500 hours of labour to produce. The DB4 GT Zagato Continuation (a mouthful, we know) is a modern recreation of the classic and iconic DB4, which was released in 1958 and is often mistaken for the Aston Martin DB5 which starred in various James Bond films. The DB4 was the first all-new Aston produced after David Brown rescued the British car manufacturer in 1947 and examples are now worth around half a million pounds. However, the brand new 2019 DB4 GT Zagato Continuation is worth a lot more than a measly £500,000. Customers are expected to take delivery of their brand new DB4 in Q4 of 2019 and they can expect their DBS GT Zagato to arrive a year later in Q4 of 2020.Although we don’t know the exact price of the two individual cars, we do know that together, as a package, they cost clients £6 million before tax and that the DB4 GT Zagato Continuation is the most expensive car they have ever produced, beating the $3.2 million Aston Martin Valkyrie.According to Aston Martin’s press release, more than half of the cars are now in various stages of production and it really does sound like a sight to be seen.Imagine walking through the Heritage Division headquarters and being able to see over 10 of Aston’s most expensive cars to date being painstakingly worked on by the very best, highly skilled craftsmen and women. Exactly 19 of these DB4s are to be produced with around 4,500 hours of meticulous crafting and detailing going into each one.The DB4 is the first car to be spawned from Aston Martin’s new Continuation programme and if we’re lucky, there could be more in store for the future. Perhaps a remake of the DBR 1 or the DB3S? The new DB4 GT Zagato Continuation is a beautiful revival of an iconic classic and both the DB4 Continuation and the DBS GT Zagato make a “fitting celebration of the brand’s 60-year love affair with this unmatched Italian automotive style icon.” according to Dr Andy Palmer, Aston Martin Lagonda President and Group CEO.
