This will be the final version of the much-loved Aston grand tourer as such, and the manufacturer intends to make this an eye-catching release – the \u2018ultimate finale to a bloodline\u2019 as Aston Martin so dramatically puts it.With the move to electric power imminent, and that statement firmly in mind, Aston Martin will be giving us the DBS 770 Ultimate; a limited run special edition V12-powered beast, which will sit in the company echelons as one of the most powerful road-going cars Aston Martin has ever released, hovering just behind the Valkyrie. The Ultimate\u2019s power will come from the DBS 5.2-litre turbocharged engine but tuned to provide some extra grunt which will arrive in the form of 44bhp more than standard, resulting in a V12 engine with an impressive output of 759bhp. There\u2019s no word so far on any of the usual tech-specs, but with the regular DBS offering a 0-62mph of 3.4 seconds, even fractions shaved off that figure will be most impressive.Of course, this is just a new year teaser from Aston, so much else is left to our dreams and wild imaginations, but we do know that the DBS 770 Ultimate will have its suspension retuned to improve and alter the handling to sit nicely with that the extra power. With 900Nm torque available from the \u2018standard\u2019 model, it\u2019s possible that torque levels will stay the same and allow for the regular 8-speed auto gearbox to remain as is.The DBS 770 Ultimate will be a limited run of just 499 units, with more information being announced very soon; allowing us a little time to get the decorations down and settle into 2023. We can only speculate as far as Ultimate pricing goes, but we can all surely rest assured that with the 2019 release of the Aston Martin Superleggera costing upwards of a whopping \u00a3247,000 in mind, that the DBS 770 Ultimate, the final incarnation and a limited edition, is not likely to be less than that.
