Turns out an Aston Martin motorcycle is just as incredible as you think it would be!

It costs £100,000, looks like a spaceship and can’t even be ridden on the road…and it’s incredible! The AMB 001 is packing serious power and seriously good looks but only 100 will be built. Ordered yours yet?

A new collaboration between Aston Martin and Brough Superior has resulted in this incredible work of two-wheeled art. Brough Superior are a historical British motorcycle manufacturer that was known to create some of the most high end, ultra-premium motorbikes between 1919 and 1940. Since then, the company has been dormant as it never resumed production after the war.

In 2008, a vintage motorcycle enthusiast bought the rights to Brough Superior and fast forward to today, Brough Superior have now created one of the most extreme superbikes available with the help of Aston Martin. Extreme in power, exclusivity and design.

The AMB 001 is a lightweight bike concept featuring a carbon fibre structural body, ‘exclusive technical features’ and a twin-turbo engine with an output of 180 horsepower. If you don’t know much about motorbikes, 180 horsepower is a lot, especially for the AMB 001 which only weighs 180 kg.

To put it into perspective, some of the fastest production bikes in the world such as the Kawasaki H2 and BMW S1000RR have around 200 hp and weigh a little more than the AMB 001 at 216 kg and 204 kg respectively. Although no official figures have been released in terms of acceleration or top speed, we can estimate that it will be able to do 0-62 mph in around 2.8-3.0 seconds.

The design of the superbike is meant to be taken from Aston Martin’s mid-engined supercars such as the Valkyrie, Vanquish Vision Concept and the all-new AM-RB 003.

“This is what we believe a cutting-edge motorcycle should be and we are very proud to see the Aston Martin wings on a motorcycle for the first time.”

“In addition to applying the skills we have developed for cars such as the ground breaking Aston Martin Valkyrie we have also been able to bring our special expertise in the traditional craft techniques to this project. The finished product is a truly beautiful motorcycle; a design and engineering work of art.” said Aston Martin Executive Vice President and Chief Creative Officer, Marek Reichman.

Unfortunately, the AMB 001 is a track-only bike but it’s likely that those who buy them will just store them in their warehouse-sized mansions and only one or two of the one hundred produced will see any track action. Featuring an ‘exclusive’ chassis configuration with a double wishbone front fork and extensively designed aerodynamics as seen in carbon fibre wings and fins, this superbike is not only designed to look as extraordinary as possible, but it was also engineered with speed in mind.

“Aston Martin may be 106 years-old but the forward momentum of this company is inspiring, for every area of the business but for Design in particular,”

“The same people who work on the design of our cars have worked on the AMB 001. These people are absolute experts and have delivered many of the special project cars that we have designed. Unlike at other car companies, our designers have the full breadth of experience and I think this is showcased in this aspirational bike.” Marek Reichman said.

If I had €108,000 to burn then this incredible work of art sure would be a just way to spend it!

Don’t go yet! Did you know that all of Maserati’s cars will now be either hybrid or full electric?
