The Jeep Avenger is essentially a small SUV that isn’t going to shake the motor industry at its core, but it most certainly has all the attributes of becoming a very popular model. The Jeep Avenger has a most pleasing look about it; it looks modern and slightly unassuming, but that is certainly not doing it any misjustice. Jeep’s designers appear to have got it spot on here and provided an SUV that simply looks… very nice indeed.In the past, it seems that Jeep has perhaps been forced into the shadows a little by the likes of Land Rover in this country. Maybe it’s also fair to say that Jeep as a company hasn’t put their all into attempting to crack the European market. Well, the interesting thing with the Avenger is that not only has it got its sights set firmly on the UK and its neighbours, but it will also be built in Europe – in Poland. And design-wise, the Avenger has been borne out of Italy. Another thing set to pique European interest is the knowledge that the Jeep Avenger is the company’s smallest vehicle so far produced; something that might certainly make Brits driving on narrow roads take a little more notice.So, what do we have here then? The Avenger is kitted out with a 54kWh battery that hides under the rear seats, with the ability to charge from 20 per cent to 80 per cent in less than half an hour. Range is expected to be about 250 miles on a full charge. Interestingly though, Jeep says that in stop-start urban driving the range will increase to around 340 miles. While this might sound counterintuitive, the continuous braking involved in such journeys enables the regeneration of the energy from braking into recycled power for the Avenger. The electric motor in the Avenger has been designed in collaboration between Nidec and Stellantis, Jeep’s owner. The motor is more refined and aims to reduce excessive electrical noise.The Avenger comes in a choice of seven colours. The metallics are quite striking and consist of Granite, Lake, Sun and Stone. For a more subtle look, the Avenger can be chosen in three pastel hues of Volcano, Snow or Ruby. Two-tone options are also available. The car sits on 16-inch alloy wheels (17-inchers for the top of the range) and features full parking sensors and plenty of strategically placed low down plastic to help you protect the paintwork even if sensors can’t help you park successfully. The top of the range will also give you improved front seating as well as an electronically powered tailgate and adaptive cruise control. Inside, you get a standard Android/Apple compatible infotainment system with a 10.5-inch screen. It also incorporates sat nav provided by TomTom.The Jeep Avenger will arrive with three standard driving modes – Normal, Eco and Sport. Normal will give you 220Nm of torque and 107bhp, while Eco will provide 81bhp along with 180Nm of torque. Meanwhile, Sport gives you 260Nm of torque and 154bhp.If you want to take the Avenger off-road, or are just facing some extreme winter driving, then the SUV comes equipped with specific modes for that purpose. Snow, Sand and Mud are all pretty much self-explanatory – the latter loosens the grip slightly up front allowing slight spinning to free the treads of mud and hunt for better grip rather than sticking.If this sounds right up your alley, then orders will be open very shortly with first deliveries expected to be in spring 2023.Images: stellantis.com"},{"@context":"https://schema.org/","@type":"BreadcrumbList
@type":"ListItem
{"@type":"ListItem
All Electric Jeep Avenger Set to Take on the European Market
https://smart-motoring.com/latest-news/all-electric-jeep-avenger-set-to-take-on-the-european-market/#breadcrumbitem"}]}]
