This latest model promises to offer a new benchmark in the supercar segment, with enhancements to usability and, most importantly, an increased level of fun. The 750S is available in both hard-top and Spider versions, with both boasting significant changes under the skin.As its name suggests, the 750S offers a power boost over the 720S, producing 750PS (740bhp). Coupled with a weight-saving of 30kg, the car boasts a “segment-leading” power-to-weight ratio of 579bhp per tonne, which is higher than its closest competitor, the Ferrari 296 GTB plug-in hybrid.McLaren’s latest model is the lightest series-production road car yet, weighing just 79kg more than the track-honed Senna hypercar without fluids. To achieve this, the car features new carbon fibre-shelled alloys, carbon-shelled race seats, and a trimmed instrument cluster. The 750S is not only lighter than its predecessor but also 10% faster across the board. It can accelerate from 0-62mph in just 2.8 seconds and reach 186mph in only 4.4 seconds. The car’s top speed is slightly lower than the 720S at 206mph. The twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 has been subtly updated with new twin fuel pumps, higher-pressure turbos, lighter pistons, and a new sports exhaust that delivers a new, distinctive sound. The chassis has undergone significant revisions to offer an even more engaging and connected driving experience. The car features an overhauled cockpit with improved driver-focused controls, such as the drive mode selector controls mounted on the side of the binnacle. The car’s design team has also highlighted the high-tech, driver-centric nature of the cabin. The 750S starts at around \u00a3250,000 and is open for orders now, with deliveries beginning in September. Despite being an evolution of the 720S, the 750S features subtle visual revisions, such as a larger active rear wing and slim new LED headlights, to distinguish it from its predecessor.
