Drama unfolded yesterday in Acton, West London when a 1971 Lamborghini Miura SV caught fire as it’s helpless owner looked on. It is not clear how the fire originally started but over the years Miura’s have gained a notorious reputation for catching alight.
The vehicle in question would have been one of only 764 to ever be produced after its launch in 1966 and the now charred wreck, which caused a road block during its fireball fate, will have to go in for some intensive repair.
According to a specialist the classic car can be saved by having a full restoration but we will, none the less, see the £1 million car back on the road!
Thought to be the world’s first super car, plenty will sympathise with the owner, however, this unfortunate incident only highlights the importance of carrying a fire extinguisher inside a classic car.
Having a V12 engine that develops around 380bhp, the SV can accelerate from zero to 60mph in 6.7 seconds and reach a top speed of 171mph.
Thankfully no one was hurt…apart from the unfortunate Lambo Miura.
