They didn\u2019t hold back either, gunning down the track at some considerable speed. Now most of you will say, \u201cOh but you can do that in any car!\u201d \u2013 but take a moment to reflect. These cars are, in some cases, 50 years old, with no safety roll-cages – some are even open tops. The risk the drivers take is nearly tripled in comparison to a modern day race car.  This has to be one of my favourite shots from the show, with a slight bit of tweaking and the black and white effect has given the impression that the image was taken back in 1960 \u2013 well done Darren, fantastic work.To cheer up the crowds from the terrible weather was the live entertainment, from the likes of The ZZ Top and Status Quo.The SWIP Arial team took to the skies to wow the crowds with a fantastic display. There was also the RAF village keeping both the young and old audiences occupied. Walking around the show it was an amazing experience to see that cars from the past still get the love and attention they deserve.  This also applies to the race teams who keep the retro race spirit alive allowing the younger generations to experience the cars and for the older generations to reminisce on their childhood.I will now leave you to enjoy the rest of the images, courtesy of Darren Skidmore.
