This years JapShow was an absolute blinder with the live arena packed and the race strip touching times of 9 seconds!
This years show stretched across the first weekend of July, the 4th and 5th, and with the seriously hot weather on flow throughout, the owners Japanese Imported beauties were presented in all their glory.
The Show & Shine paddock had every type of Japanese model you could wish for parked up, waxed to the max and with Scooby doo’s on full show?
That’s right, Alan Moss and his Subaru came first for best in show at the Show & Shine paddock, Congrats! You may have seen Alan, his Subaru and gigantic Scooby Doo throughout a few of this year’s car shows and what a pleasant attraction he is.
In second place for Show & Shine was Nick Brown in his Honda Civic Coupe with Stuart Knight in his Honda Civic EP3 coming in third place!
Some more iconic Japanese cars seen in the Show & Shine included a Datsun 280ZX and a Nissan 370Z.
The annual ‘Rung What Ya Brung’ went ahead the day before on Saturday the 4th seeing some of the countries quickest JDM metal. The track saw the likes of the Nissan Micra, Yamaha R1 and a GSXR.
RWYB saw a sneaky appearance from the UK Power Tour on Saturday, with the Terminator Rotary Escort all the way from Malta receiving a fantastic reception from fans! The team managed to beat their personal best, hitting an amazing 7.62 seconds on the strip! Congrats guys.
Winners of RWYB included: Francis Garcia in his Non Road Legal with an amazing time of 8.6 seconds and a top speed of 165.48mph. Following on in second was Ray Spong with his Jap Bike touching 9.36 seconds at his top speed of 146.73mph. In Third place, Jamie Lumley followed in his Class A -Nissan with an impressive time of 9.3 seconds and a top speed on 155.27mph.
The day also included a series of events in the live action arena from including Stunt Displays and Drifting, Michelle Westby was burning through some rubber on the drift track alongside Terry Grant and Lee Bowers.
