The 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show is underway and is expected to be one of the biggest and best ever.
One of the most high-profile events in the automotive calendar has opened its doors to the eager public, with the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show set to wow expectant crowds of vehicle lovers from across the globe.
Taking place at Messe Frankfurt, more than one million guests are expected to attend this international showpiece during the next 11 days, with the 66th Frankfurt Motor Show set to run until September 27th.
Visitors will be treated to an array of automotive excellence during this time, with a total of 219 world premieres scheduled and more than 1,100 exhibitors in all, hailing from a total of 39 countries.
Indeed, attendees can expect to see a wealth of cutting edge design and inspiring new releases at this year’s event; many exhibitors are showcasing their newest models, while the technologies behind some of the wildest and interesting innovations will also be revealed.
Organised by the VDA (Association of the German Automotive Industry) and the home showpiece for such industry heavyweights as BMW, Audi and Mercedes, the Frankfurt Motor Show is always a hotbed of design excellence for German firms, as the rivals all look to outdo each other on the exhibition floor.
Two days of press-only access has certainly helped to stoke the excitement surrounding this year’s Frankfurt Motor Show, with some of the most eagerly anticipated new releases and development models being put through their paces for the assembled crowds.
Some standout exhibitions of this year’s show will include:
- Lamborghini’s new Huracan Spider
- The Bentley Bentayga
- The Rolls-Royce Dawn
- Mercedes’ new IAA (Intelligent Aerodynamic Automobile) concept
- The full-electric Porsche Mission E
- Jaguar’s new and impressive SUV based on the C-X17 Concept Car (unveiled at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show), the F-Pace
Overall, this year’s exhibition space will cover some 230,000 sq metres – the equivalent of 33 standard football pitches – and play host to the largest ever roster of exhibitors at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
With more than 200 world premieres taking place at this year’s international showpiece – 60 more than the last time the event came to Frankfurt in 2013 – the competition to attract the biggest crowds and to create the loudest buzz across the industry is sure to be fierce.
It is not just the cars themselves that will be causing a stir among the knowledgeable and passionate crowds though, as for the first time ever, the show in 2015 will also be hosting a specially-designed careers exhibition.
Highlighting the wide and varied roles available within the global automotive sector and offering advice and inspiration to those hoping to pursue a career in car design/production, the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show will not only be helping to showcase the cars of tomorrow, but also help to inspire the men and women that will be making them.
‘Go big or go home’ will therefore be the order of the day for all those showcasing at this year’s event, meaning the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show really will be an event that petrol heads from around the world will not want to miss.
