Show season has officially begun! The long winter-winter wait is finally over, garage doors have opened and project cars have made an appearance. We’ve had a few shows already this year, but they have been for the VAG cars. Fast Show is a great season opener as it caters for everyone and everything!
Fast Show, isn’t as the name implies, it is a very mixed show with the Show & Shine area being equally as popular the drag-strip. So we shall start off with the strip action, this Supra is the creator of clouds. Rest assured, it wasn’t running skinny wheels on the rear, in actual fact, they were rather wide and rightly so, this machine flew down the strip!
As I said, Fast Show is open to everyone, so it isn’t a strange sight to see old Ford’s running some rather competitive times! Remember one thing, old Fords never die, they do sometimes over-heat, but we can overcome that.
Moving over to the Live-Action area Michelle Westby was back again this year in her R32 Skyline entertaining the masses and performing well-executed moves. Being a lover of selfies, she also can’t help having a picture mid-drift, as they say, women are much better at multi-tasking than men.
Over to the club-stand, show & shine and traders section now and I am certain that, for those who frequently visit Motor-Vision, will remember the Fitment Junkies guys making an appearance on the Performance Direct stand at USC last summer. Darren’s Legnum is creeping behind Martin’s R34, the red-halos really give the Legnum a more aggressive look.
Ashley Morell’s BMW Z4 is sporting a new look for 2016 with new wheels and a very vivid blue wrap, he went home with the Best Exterior Award!
Mark Lampard also walked away with an award on Sunday for the Best Interior in his Audi TT. Some of you may remember this car having very bright pink-wheels, they have now been sprayed a more subtle grey, but has still maintained the pink brake calipers – nice touch Mark.
I also came across this Subaru Impreza hatch-back running over fenders, we know that over-fenders are becoming more and more popular with companies such as Liberty Walk developing kits for a variety of car, but this hatch really pulls off the over-fender look, especially tucking those deep-concave wheels.
Now here is a car that you don’t see being modified very often (if at all), a Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG, concave wheels have also made another appearance and they really compliment the car well! Well done to the owner for achieving such a classy look (has to be Car of The Show for me – Tyrone).
Over at the traders section, the SlammedUK stand invited along this VIP inspired Mercedes W124 Coupe. Wide dee-dished wheels have been made to fit by lowering the car to a floor-kissing height and dialing in the camber. Regardless of what your view is on camber, this car is a simple work of art.
Looking forward to what 2016’s season has to offer.
