So the Big Bang show has been and gone for another year, and for any Volkswagen fans that sadly couldn’t attend, we’ve got you covered!
As always having a show mid April is definitely a chilly one, and as seen in the news, slight snow certainly caused excitement. Despite the grizzly weather, enthusiasm remained across the weekend with everyone in attendance making it a positive one.
As always Santapod’s famous drag strip was open for the popular ‘Run What Ya Brung’ (RWYB), but unfortunately only shortly across Friday and Saturday morning due to closures from the rain.
However, the hardcore drag racers took to the strip afterward for some serious VW racing.

Big Bang is also a family friendly show and each year the show sees’s more and more kids in attendance, as they always say, start them young!
There were plenty of activities for the kids to keep themselves entertained with across the weekend’s show, such as the Circus Whiz, Ping Pong, Pedal Powered Scalextric (That even some adults had a cheeky go of) and the awesome Titan the Robot shows.
The live action arena saw Cool Flo bring their stunt buses and BMX’s out to entertain the crowds, to which they didn’t disappoint, and, speaking of bikes, hundreds partook in the Human Powered race, riding, running, skating, and scooting down the drag strip.
In the evening, the dance marquee didn’t disappoint, with Swifty B and Niki Dimensions battling it out for best DJ! For those that prefer and bit of Rock and Roll over Dace and House music, The Fuelers Bar was also live until earlier hours of the morning with thanks to the Jitterbug Jets.
After a long Friday day/evening, Saturday was a little calmer, giving attendees the chance to walk around the show paddock for Rust & Rat day. As always, everyone that partook was a winner, and the judges certainly had a tough choice in handing out trophies.
So the weekend was as mixed one, but personally we put that down to the weather! The show was still packed full of activities for everyone, and the standard RWYB and Show Paddock were still able to briefly go ahead.
Hopefully next year more sun means more attendees, but if not, there’s still the Big Bang spirit!
