Moving on from Fisker Automotive, Fisker Inc is a Californian company founded in 2016 to progress the advancement of the electric vehicle.As can often be the case, here in the UK we often get to admire cars manufactured faraway in the USA whilst never expecting to see them on these shores. Though Fisker has announced that the Fisker Kayak pick-up will be making its way to the Europe, with pricing likely to be starting at around \u00a336,000.Henrik Fisker has also pointed out that the EU Alaska will not arrive in huge volumes, which might make it even more desirable.The Fisker Alaska is an electric pick-up with a purported range of around 340 miles and will launch in the UK next year in 2025.The pick-up\u2019s range will be dependent on price and battery power: a 230-mile range Alaska will be available with a 75kWh battery compared to the hyper-range version with a 113kWh battery capable of that impressive 340 miles.If it\u2019s possible to compare the Alaska to the Fisker SUV, then we might be getting just over 550bhp in the range topping version.The rear features a rather unique load bed that can be increased in size – it\u2019s what Fisker is calling a \u2018Houdini rear\u2019. The rear can extend from the basic 4.5ft to 9.2ft; so certainly not an inconsiderable amount.Fisker Kayak, EV pick-up with extendable load bedThe option is electronically controlled and lowered into an area behind the rear seats into the flooring area. There is also some additional load space under the bonnet, which will certainly give the Kayak a fair bit of versatility when it comes to luggage and carrying loads.The Fisker Kayak will sit on the brand\u2019s FT31 platform and be 5.3 metres in length, thanks to the FT31 being a slightly extended version of what the Fisker Ocean sits on.The Fisker Kayak\u2019s base price is expected to start at $45,400 (\u00a336,675)The Kayak is also being touted as the world\u2019s lightest pick-up truck. And while many tech specs are yet to be revealed, the light weight of the Kayak allows Fisker to suggest that the EV pick-up will be able to accelerate from 0-62mph in less than 4 seconds, depending on battery type.The overall concept of the Fisker Alaska EV pick-up coming to Europe is an exciting one.
