This has ultimately boosted the engine\u2019s peak power output to  416kW (565PS).Porsche has also angled the engine forward by 5.5 degrees to create more room for the\u00a0 underbody diffuser. This in turn has meant that the air conditioning compressor and the\u00a0 alternator have had to be moved forward, though Porsche says this has aided with the GT3\u00a0 R\u2019s weight balance.The GT3 R has double wishbone and multi-link suspension at the front and rear respectively.  These changes minimise wear on the rear tyres and support improved driveability and more  precise steering. The vehicle also makes use of improved KW shock absorbers that offer five  different adjustment settings. The new suspension changes have also allowed for the GT3 R\u2019s underbody to be elevated.  Porsche says that these changes, alongside a smooth undertray and a rear diffuser, improve  downforce without dramatically increasing drag, thus allowing the GT3 R to better carry  speed around corners. The new swan-neck mount featured on the rear wing further  contributes to making the GT3 R as aerodynamic as possible.The wheelbase has also been increased from 2,459mm to 2,507mm, with the rear wheels\u00a0 moved slightly further back. This change further aids the reduction of stress on the rear\u00a0 tyres and improved ride quality.Inside, Porsche has made a conscious effort to ensure that safety remains a high priority.\u00a0 The seat has been shifted closer to the car\u2019s centre, which has allowed Porsche to better\u00a0 adapt the seat position to the GT3 R\u2019s upgraded roll cage. Both the steering wheel and the\u00a0 pedals can be also adjusted in line with the driver’s needs. The 6-point safety harness has\u00a0 seen an upgrade, with the clasp enhanced to allow for marginally quicker driver changes.\u00a0Development for the 911 GT3 R began in 2019, and it will be ready for competition at the  beginning of the 2023 season.
