The success of the Mi Ami Buggy has been international, with police and coast guard using the cars on the Greek island of Halki, where the diminutive car has been a surprising local hit. Following this, 7 of the Buggy models were added to the police vehicle fleet in the Italian island of Maddalena.If Citroen is attempting to add a bit of steel to an essentially gentle looking car, then the re-release of the Buggy and the take-up by various official forces will surely do it – though of course, it remains essentially a near perfect vehicle for driving in congested and cramped cities like London where finding a parking space can be pretty stressful.The fully electric Mi Ami has been a huge hit since it arrived on the scene in 2020. In fact, in just under 2 years Citroen has sold more than 30,000 units of the zero emission vehicle across 9 different countries. Of course, part of the ongoing selling point is that such a vehicle lends itself perfectly to special editions, such as the Mi Ami Pop, Mi Ami Tonic and Mi Ami Colour versions. One of the most interesting, aside from the more rugged Buggy, is the Mi Ami Cargo, which offers a payload of 140kg with a maximum load of 400 litres. It doesn\u2019t take a genius to work out that such a vehicle might be a godsend for many inner city companies that reply on being able to deliver locally.The Mi Ami Buggy Limited Edition will not be quite the same as the first run, with Citroen teasing that there will be some subtle changes to differentiate the two separate runs. Though it does look like we will have to wait until next year to find out what these changes will be, as Citroen is saying nothing more on the subject. One obvious change that\u2019s sure to make the grade will be the recent battery alterations to improve the Mi Ami\u2019s ability to perform well in cold weather.The not so good news is that Citroen is being a little vague about the availability of the Mi Ami Buggy Limited Edition in the UK. While Citroen tends to say that the door is open, in reality we will have to wait and see what happens when the Buggy goes on sale at the end of the first quarter of 2023.
