Inevitably, a bold aesthetic can result in divided opinions but if you do happen to be a fan of how this car looks and also need to get into the festive spirit, you are in the right place.Photographed here in what looks to be BMW\u2019s Aventurine Red metallic (certainly the most festive choice), the iX shines in what I believe to be the sexiest colour available for this car.Although these days you don\u2019t know what you\u2019re getting with an SUV in terms of the drivetrain, with many of them opting for RWD or, in an increasing number of cases, FWD, the iX comes with all-wheel drive as standard. As a true 4×4, this luxury SUV sits comfortably on the snow for its photoshoot thanks to electric motors at the front and rear, powered by either 326 hp motors or 523 hp motors, with up to 257 or 380 miles of range respectively. You would expect a car that starts just shy of \u00a370,000 to have things like AWD, though.One main talking point for the iX are its grilles. Or, so-called grilles as they don\u2019t actually lead anywhere. Possibly one of the worst trends in the motoring industry of late, putting fake grilles on an electric car is like putting a spoiler on a hatchback with under 80 horsepower. Look at the Honda e, Mustang Mach-E or Model 3 for minimalist grille designs that don\u2019t try to directly mimic the kinds of grilles we see on cars with combustion engines.Although some may find it hard to appreciate the huge fake grilles on the iX, these beautiful photographs should make it a little easier. And we are in the season of generosity and giving after all, so why not give the iX a chance?The festive winter theme continues on the inside with the car\u2019s daring and lavish interior. The iX is available with a range of interior \u2018worlds\u2019, as BMW calls it. Seen here is the Interior Design Suite in what seems to be BMW\u2019s \u2018Castanea\u2019, which is the name of a group of rough-barked trees that includes the chestnut tree, thus explaining its warm brown colour.As beautiful on the inside as it is on the outside, we certainly wouldn\u2019t mind keeping warm in this car this Christmas for a winter drive in the snow.
