The Motor-Vision team all have that go to song whilst driving, but do you? A song so catchy or classic that makes you seat wiggle at traffic lights, sing along or finger tap too? 

There were a wide variety of choices thrown into the mix, and some choices that were trickier to pick than others! But we’ve made our conclusions and put together our top 10 list of some of the best driving and ‘motoring themed’ songs for in the car!

10) Life Is a Highway – Tom Cochrane

This upbeat tune is jam packed with drums and the odd harmonica solo just to shake things up a bit.

Tom is sure to bring a smile to the face of even the weariest highway traveler!

9) Fast Car – Tracy Chapman

Mixing it up a little bit, If you prefer a more chilled vibe too/from work, check out this guitar-led pop ballad by Tracy Chapman.

Whether you actually do have a fast car or not, this is the perfect accompaniment for your travels.

Some of you may however recognise the more recent version of this track by Jonas Blue ft Dakota – For a more up beat version, it works wonders for summer cruising!

8) Mustang Sally – Wilson Pickett

Everyone knows the classic song, Mustang Sally!

However, Wilson’s take on Mack Rice’s original recording has become a national treasure and one that we feel makes the perfect soundtrack for anyone dreaming of taking their very own Ford Mustang out for a spin.

7) Shut Up and Drive – Rihanna

Throwing some RiRi into the mix now and the premise here is simple, just drive and let the music do alllllll the talking!

There’s a real feeling of motion with this track by Rihanna and we’re sure we’ll catch you swinging to one of her old school throwbacks.

6) I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles) – The Proclaimers

Okay, so we know we’re not walking here but you might be off on a 500 mile round trip for the holidays this year!

Some may find this track a tad annoying but when it’s on, we know you’re humming/tapping along!

5) Don’t Stop Believin’ – Journey

A song for your journey, about a journey,  by Journey, how fitting!

Everyone knows the words, and more importantly, that catchy opening jingle.

Whether you’ve got a car full of friends and family, or you’re driving on your own – you’ll be having a singalong in no time when this pops up on your playlist/radio, we guarantee it.

4) Passenger – Iggy Pop

All together now, “la la la la lalalalaaaaa!”

This is one for passengers and drivers alike! Everyone can enjoy this little touch of punk by Iggy to keep spirits up on a long drive.

3) Green Light – Lorde

We’ve all been there, sat at traffic lights after a long hard day, willing them on to change!

Well, this song with its fantastic driving rhythm says it all – “Waiting for it that green light, I want it”.

2) Highway Star – Deep Purple

We thought we’d go old school here, for those moments when you can’t help but feel like a ‘Highway Star’.

1) Don’t Stop Me Now – Queen

No ‘Top 10 Driving Song’ list is truly complete without a cracker by Queen.

For us it was a battle between ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ and ‘Don’t Stop Me Now’.

If you’ve watched the classic film Wayne’s World, you may just agree that the Bohemian Rhapsody car sing along scene helps in making this choice.

However for a top drive along track, It had to be their classic hit ‘Don’t Stop Me Now’!
