‘Simply Aston Martin’ is on Sunday 2nd April 2017 and is set to be one of the UK’s largest gatherings for fans and owners of these iconic cars.
There were over 350 cars at last year’s event ranging from classic to modern and everything in-between so it really is heaven for any Aston lover. It takes place at Beaulieu National Motor Museum so there are plenty of other attractions to take a look at during the day, but of course the main attraction is the huge line up of sports cars and this gives you a great chance to connect with fellow enthusiasts.
History behind Aston Martin
Aston Martin has had a lot of ups and downs over the last century or so, and there is no denying that it was all worth it in the end. Known worldwide for their luxurious, elegant models, the name ‘Aston Martin’ was first formed in 1914 and the company has come a long way since their first ‘Coal Scuttle’.
Power, Beauty and Soul runs through everything they do and arguably their most beautiful creation is the DB5, made famous by its role in James Bond ‘Goldfinger’.
2001 was a landmark year as they produced their 5000th DB7 and launched the V12 Vanquish. This was a technological highlight for the company and their creation was once again snatched up by the guys behind the Bond movies, this time to be driven by Mr Brosnan in ‘Die Another Day’.
Not long after this, they hit a total of 30,000 production cars in total, not bad for an operation that originally started out with just two men in a small workshop in London!
Since 1922, Aston Martin have been breaking records and winning prizes on the track internationally with their exceptional high-performance sports cars; their DB3S was the class winner at Le Mans three times in a row from 1955. 2005 marked the return to racing for the marquee and not long after this 6 of their cars made it to the end of the 75th Le Mans 24 hours.
Their dedication to ensuring all vehicles are engineered to the highest possible standard, with designs that never fail to impress, has made Aston Martin one of the most desired brands in the world and we just can’t get enough of their whole range.
