It’s rumored that the budget for the show is £250 million and on that bombshell, let’s get into the show!We are first shown a rather bedraggled Clarkson leaving an office building in the pouring rain before getting into a black cab and heading to Gatwick Airport. After checking in to a flight headed for Los Angeles, Jeremy gets into a stunning blue Ford Mustang Rocket and drives out onto the highway. A look into the rear view mirror reveals two other models of Mustang with James May and Richard Hammond behind the wheel. Some may think that this Hollywood-esque introduction scene is over the top but we couldn’t think of a more fitting way to bring Jeremy back into play! The infamous trio then drive into the desert and are accompanied by a swarm of Mad Max style vehicles until they reach what looks like a small Glastonbury festival which is later referred to as ‘Burning Van’.As soon as Clarkson, May and Hammond start to talk, it’s clear that this show is going to be just like the good old days of Top Gear (before Chris Evans)! The banter doesn’t take long to start going and height jokes about Richard are underway within the first 15 minutes.Everything that you love from the old Top Gear has been brought into this show including a race track, tame racing driver, celebrity segment, news, car reviews and of course the special ingredient, the iconic trio.We are definitely looking forward to the next episode of ‘The Grand Tour’ and are glad that the boys are back on our screens.
