There are many cars out there that have near-identical twins and the following are five vehicle pairs that are pretty much identical apart from the badge – can you spot the difference?

Audi R8 / Lamborghini Gallardo

 Audi R8 Spyder

Starting out with potential supercar siblings, we have the R8 and Gallardo. Both come with a V-10 engine and have a 0-60mph time of under 4 seconds, so performance-wise Audi and Lamborghini are tied.

These sister cars also cost around the same for the same amount of equipment. In yellow, these Spyders could certainly fool you at first glance as they whip past.

Aston Martin Cygnet / Toyota iQ

 Aston Martin Cygnet

The Cygnet is essentially just a luxurious version of the Japanese iQ, so its no real surprise that few chose to pay up to three times the price for a vehicle that looked so similar, even if it did have an Aston badge.

Toyota IQ

Because let’s face it, as far as exterior styling goes, that badge is one of the only parts that differentiates the two tiny city cars.

Fiat 500 / Chrysler Ypsilon

 Fiat 500

Fiat has enjoyed great success with their oh-so-quirky 500 range and the Chrysler Ypsilon is basically the same car, but never saw the same level of interest, despite their clear similarities.

Chrysler Ypsilon

The small Chrysler hatch is based on the same platform, with matching chassis and both have that signature slope at the rear that helps them stand out from the rest.

Hyundai ix35 / Kia Sportage

Hyundai IX35

Moving on to a couple of SUVs, we can see that the ix35 and Sportage are undeniably car twins. These offerings from the Hyundai Kia Motor Group are basically identical in styling, sharing the same platform, software and drivelines.

Kia Sportage

Both are extremely high quality with their own individual ‘characters’ appealing to different buyers, despite the long list of matching parts.

Audi A4 / Volkswagen Passat

Audi A4

You can expect high quality with each of these classy, executive saloons. Since they resemble each other so closely, choosing one ultimately comes down to what it is you want from a car.

VW Passat

Looking for a fun drive with upmarket lighting? The Audi delivers. However, for a more refined experience, you’d be better off with a practical Passat.
